Recently, we visited a customer’s house at their request to assess the situation of their kitchen. They had a lot of space available in the kitchen area, but we did find a lot of construction issues in their kitchen, which were making the space clumsy. The floor was unnecessarily occupied and there were limited storage units available in the kitchen. So, our first attention went towards the clutter that was making the space look comparatively smaller. Also, we find the cabinets were not so functional to store as much as kitchen essentials in them. So, the basic idea was to create a lot of storage and build functional storage units to organize different kitchen items in separate sections. Also, we wanted everything to be in the right place; right from the kitchen appliances to the storage units.
As there was a lot of space available in the kitchen, we decided to go with the kitchen island concept and a lot of storage cabinets. The island concept has become popular as far as Kitchen remodel in Alhambra is concerned. In their family, they had kids and elder members also. So, they had to arrange an extra sitting area to serve the purpose. Moreover, they wanted their kitchen to be more functional with optimum storage options. Hence, we thought of adding separate storage units for organizing different items.
We found that the cabinets have lost their shine and they are no longer functional. Our client wanted to upgrade the cabinets. They chose wooden cabinets with a glossy finish. So, we kept it simple and added new cabinets to their kitchen. We added shelves in the cabinets so that they can organize all the kitchen essentials.
As per the client’s requirements, they wanted functional storage units for their daily kitchen items. So, we added open shelves and additional racks to keep their kitchen essentials. The main idea was to keep them at a reachable height so that they do not have to face issues while finding all the items. Also, we added a separate pantry unit with a glossy touch to store all the food and grocery items in it.
We did find that they had limited space available for food preparation as the counters were not wide enough. So, we thought of adding a kitchen island that will resolve the issues of space problem. They got a huge counter for cutting veggies and meat slicing purposes. Moreover, they got a lot of storage in the island kitchen to store their essential kitchen items. Island storage also provided additional sitting areas for their children and the elder members of the family. We remodeled the kitchen exactly what our client wanted us to do.
